Milano Fashion Week 2020

Fall/Winter 2020

Hey there,

Here's a little recap on what I did for Milano Fashion Week 2020.....

LIVE MUSIC & APERITIVO

To kick start the week, Milan Fashion Club hosted an aperitivo event at Club 55. This was a fun networking event as we got to listen to music and chat with people involved/interested in the industry.

PRADA RUNWAY ANALYSIS AT ISTITUTO MARANGONI

We headed over to Istituto Marangoni, a private Italian university focusing on art and design, for a talk about the recent Prada runway show. The conversation revolved around inspirations from the past, continuous revival of classic Prada goods, and the influence of masculinity (as represented through clothes) on female empowerment.

VAN CLEEF & ARPELS EXHIBIT AT PIAZZA DUOMO

Next up, I headed over to Piazza Duomo to visit the Van Cleef & Arpels exhibit. This exhibit focused on showcasing the history of the brand, the craftsmanship of it's most timeless pieces, and a congruence to a storyline regarding art and time.

VERSACE FALL/WINTER 2020

My friends and I discovered the location for several of the top designer's shows, so we decided to stop by Versace's location. As you could imagine, it was extremely crowded with a bunch of photographers, journalist, and fashion admirers. At the end of the show, we stood near the security to watch the celebrity guests exit. We saw Chiara Ferragni (Italy's #1 fashion influencer, blogger, and businesswoman), Fedez, Emily Ratajkowski, Barbara Palvin, amongst others.

POP-UP STORES

During fashion week, it seems as if the city comes alive with pop-up stores for upcoming/emerging designers to display their work. The image on the left was a mixed boutique providing a shopping experience and a "meet-and-greet" session with the featured designers. I had a great conversation with two specific designers, Fatima Ropero and Urban Rains, so check out their work/latest creations.

OUR FIRST MASQUERADE BALL

To celebrate the ending of a very creative but hectic week, I went with a group of friends to our first masquerade ball.
